The H.C. Lincoln Organ in Thaxted Parish Church, Essex
by Nicholas Thistlethwaite and Dominic Gwynn
This church has the distinction of housing one of England’s most important historic organs. Originally built for a proprietary chapel in London, it came to Thaxted in 1858 and for the next 150 years received little attention apart from tuning and maintenance. Eventually it was restored during 2013–14 by Goetze & Gwynn Ltd and is now an excellent example of H.C. Lincoln’s work.
Format: A5, 32 pages, full colour throughout.
