Since then a large number of new organs have been built in Oxford and many of the existing instruments have been reconstructed. Michael Popkin has undertaken the research necessary to update the text and specifications, expanding it also to include short accounts of notable Oxford organists and organ-builders. The book is fully illustrated throughout with photographs, some historic, but mostly new, many of which were commissioned for this edition.
